What guests have told us:

The following quotes are ones that guests have shared directly with us. We've also repeated some of them elsewhere on the site ....

“With all honesty, I can’t think of anything that needs improvement. We look to B&B experiences to provide hospitality and comfort. You provided this beyond any other B&B we’ve visited in the area. We can end our search for the perfect weekend retreat! Your openness to families (especially those of us with young children) is a huge plus."

“We thoroughly enjoyed staying at your lodge. Give Chester a hug for Amanda. We look forward to visiting again soon. (Robin, Todd, Amanda)"

“We love Sundance Bear; what a wonderful place to be!   (Sue & Jim)"

“Thank you for your hospitality and kindness. We had an amazing time, filled with relaxation. Just what we needed! We hope to come back. (Lauralee, Amy, Laura)"

“Mesa Verde.. train to Silverton.. white water raft trip in Durango.. Sundance Bear was our base camp for these excursions. However, it was much more than that. The 80 acres provided ample opportunity for exploring and space for pitching horse shoes, throwing a ball or stick with Chester, reading, or just watching the sun set. Stephen did not miss a single night in the hot tub.   (Steve, Jennifer, Sarah and Stephen, Houston, TX)"

“The Sundance Bear Lodge was a special experience - a nap, evening talk on the porch, a great bed, computer online - thank you for your hospitality. (Louise)"

“Just wanted to say thanks again for everything. You both were so wonderful. (Pauline)"

“Thank you so much for everything. This place is wonderful. I'm glad you are kind enough to share it. (Kimberlee)"

“What a terrific ranch for our family vacation. (Henry)"

“We still talk about what a great time we had at the lodge. Thank you again for your warm hospitality. Our son still talks about the dutch babies for breakfast. (Marsha)"

“It has been such a marvelous blessing to have had the chance to stay with you at your lovely ranch. The beauty of the surrounding mountains made our retreat even more special. (Jo, Heidi, Luis, David)"

“Thanks for the great mini-vacation. We loved meeting you and enjoyed all your hospitality. (Lu)"

“Susan and Bob Scott truly opened their home to us and made us feel like family. We never really felt like guests. The surroundings were magnificent and we were fed more food for breakfast than we ever normally eat! (Pauline from Florida)"

“The setting was idyllic, the lodge had phenomenal panoramic views of Mesa Verde, the innkeepers made you feel very much at home and the accommodations were very comfortable and clean. (Cathy from Boulder, Colorado)"

“We stayed in the new guest house. It was absolutely beautiful! The perfect oasis from the sweltering summer heat! (Cindy from Littleton, CO)"

“Wonderful atmosphere and the view was spectacular. The innkeepers treated us like family. If you are planning a trip to the Mesa Verde area, you must try to stay here. (Marty from Texas)"

“The Sundance Bear cabin was cozy and comfortable with a great view of the mountains and Mesa Verde. The hospitality and helpfulness of the innkeepers, Sue and Bob, the friendly pets, and the beautiful grounds also helped to make this a great experience. It is also a very child friendly place (our nine year old loved it and wants to go back). (K from Carrboro, NC)"

“The tender ministries of Sundance Bear have spoiled us forever! Thank you for providing such delicious meals and hospitality in a perfect setting. You are appreciated! "

“We still reminisce about the spectacular summer thunderstorm and the evening campfire, complete with marshmallows. Sundance Bear was the best place we stayed on our entire trip, which ranged from a luxury hotel in Denver to a dude ranch in Moab. Nothing beats down-home comfort and hospitality, which Sundance Bear provides in ab(S)undance. (Dale and Paula, Fredericksburg, VA)"

“Loved the log cabin! Very comfortable and clean. We felt as if we were staying at our family's home. Views from the deck are outstanding! (Shalini and Mark, Boulder, CO)"

“Thank you so much for your hospitality, recommendations, and an opportunity to share this lovely place you call home. Sue and Bob - genuine good nature and gentile manner made our experience special - one we hope to revisit. Later, Chester! (Liz, Nicholas and Steve, Atlanta)"

“Your place MADE our vacation! Will be back EVERY chance we get! (Charles, Texas)"

“Wonderful place to stay. Judy's birthday was extra special because of your hospitality. We felt very much at home. "

“The cabin was beautiful -- the website pictures of the cabin didn't do (it) justice! It was beyond our expectations. The Scotts and their family were very warm. Our children especially enjoyed playing with Chester! (Kim and Bill)"

“What an incredible place! The panoramic on the internet site does not do justice to the spectacular views! (Mary, Rex, Megan and Caitlyn, Boulder, CO)"

“Thank you, Sue and Bob, for your contributions to our best vacation ever. The cabin was perfect for the three of us (including Walker the dog) (Tom, Jo, and Walker, Fountain Hills, AZ)"

“We loved the place, the food, the dog, the cats, but especially the friendly atmosphere and great conversations. (Ruth and John, San Angelo, TX)"

“Southwest Colorado is fast becoming one of my favorite getaways. Your hospitality makes a special place even more special. The tranquility seems to spread over everything. (Larry)"

“Beautiful home, wonderful food, friendly hosts, playful dog, inviting hot tub, peace and quiet -- a stupendous time! (Bob & Carol - Bowie, MD)"

"If you ever dreamed of that idyllic cabin in the woods with the wind whispering through the pines and a sunrise/sunset view of the horizon, Sundance Bear is your dream come true. The perfect getaway - all the comforts of home without the headaches. (Bud and PJ - San Diego, CA)"

“Sundance Bear Lodge is a long way from The Isle of Wight, UK, but I think we left a small part of our hearts there. Surroundings were so beautiful, the welcome so warm, the breakfasts delicious, Mesa Verde wonderful and Chester? - priceless! (Dawn, Peter, Jo and Jon – UK)"

“Sundance Bear Lodge is the 'star find' of our holiday. (Dawn and party)"

"Our one night was not nearly long enough ... I have recommended Sundance Bear to friends with complete confidence! Barb – Michigan"

“Well, what can I say? ‘THE BOYS FROM TEXAS’ enjoyed every minute of their stay. From the time Miss Sue and Mister Bob started breakfast until the time they tucked us in every night, they never knew what to expect from day to day from a rowdy bunch of HARLEY DAVIDSON motorcycle riders. Although we were only there 7 days it must have been an eternity to them. If you are looking for a romantic place to stay or a place to read a book or just a relaxing conversation with two of the most spectacular people in the world, PLEASE turn your thoughts to SUNDANCE BEAR LODGE. You will never, never, find a more relaxing and wonderful place. Thanks Bob and Sue for having us. You are the greatest!!!! Oh yes..........Thanks for putting up with our BUSTER! (Patrick – Texas)"

"Perfect location for a day spent at Mesa Verde. REALLY enjoyed the coziness and ambiance of the cabin. It was SO comfortable after a long day of sightseeing. Bob and Susan’s hospitality and helpfulness were great too – wish we could have stayed longer! (Linda, Bob and Maggie)"

“One word – Beauuuutiful. (Chad - Kansas)"

“This was the best part of our vacation. The canyon, the cabin, the fabulous breakfasts, the view! Wow! (Sean and Kay)"

“Upon our arrival, I asked Bob about the rules. ‘No rules, just imagine you are at grandma’s house’. It was even better than grandma’s: usually grandma doesn’t have the ‘casual luxury’ that Bob and Sue have created. But they did make us feel like family. They made our vacation special. (Puerto Rico)"

“The cabin was just what we were looking for and we enjoyed its rustic charm. Everything – ground, cabin lodge, etc. – were very clean and well taken care of, a testament to the pride Bob and Sue have for their unique B&B. (Mike and Margaret – Madison, WI)"

“We had a fabulous stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the deck. We barbequed then watched the snow white peaks turn pink at sunset. We didn’t want for anything during our stay . . . you’ve thought of every detail! (Ken and family)"

A word about comments

The world has changed - "the social internet" and "Web 2.0" mean every guest can be a travel critic and every new guest can research what others have to say before they make a decision.

The links to the left go to travel sites - where people are free to write their reactions without owner involvement.  And they appear on the internet almost immediately, so you see what is happening in real time.  We as owners can respond, but we have no control over what they write.

We feel blessed with the positive reactions, both after they have returned home and what they have said directly to us. In this business, these are our lifeblood.
